went to explorer kids with the kids. the best thing abt this trip is that there is a direct bus to downtown east and the price is reasonable for an indoor playground.
dom went there as a reward trip for doing well for his final yr exams with the school and he came home singing praises of the place. the cool thing is there is a indoor adventure circuit there, you know those types you get hooked to some harness and walk over ropes and stuff. i wanted the kids to try that, cos it is really a safe and confidence booster.
anyway, we almost had the whole place to ourselves if not for a studentcare group.
the place was big, too bad that the Ball O City was under maintenance else it would have been more fun for the kids. the mega play was huge and well maintained, there are many climbing challenges, slides and tunnels. they had fun running wild thru the mega play.
there was also the Cliff, bit of a safe wall climbing. another impt point abt the place which i encourage them to try.
the highlight was dom going thru the Adventure circuit. i couldn't believe how high it was. ok, i am short and the floor was uneven to minic slopes but there was a section where the ropes were higher than me. dom had a challenging time, kept telling us he want to come down. there were a few sections where it was quite shaky and he was probably frightened. he was ok once he completed the whole circuit. for S$5.50 per circuit, i would say it is very very worth the money paid.
Hero 6 is really a wonderful movie for the whole family to watch. most important of all, this is the first movie that the kids watched in the cinema.
there are so many funny moments in the movie and (to me) the most touching scene is when BayMax chose to sacrifice himself to save Hero. sometimes, a non-human is more human than a human.
the best thing was that bry managed to sit thru the entire movie without wanting to leave. he has a short attention span and i was worried that he would want to leave. *heng*
Bry has developed short sightedness, with 100 per eye. i dun know if he will be able to take care of his spectacles. thankfully it is the start of the school holidays and so will have time for him to learn the proper care of his spectacles. bry's frame was chosen by me, something light for him to get used to wearing spectacles.
Dom's astigmatism has increased to 75 for his left eye, while right eye still maintains perfect vision. the new pair of spectacles was chosen by him after carefully going thru the various frames. i think he looked quite matured now.

this will be the group 3 full album. bit of history first. i am relative new to kpop and first heard of 2AM from the drama "Personal Taste" which starred Lee MinHo, Son YeJin and Im SeulOng. it was the track "Like A Fool" tat caught my attention, which i then subsequently downloaded.
even then i wasn't madly in love with the boys until i started watching WGM Adams Couple. as you all know, WGM is a fake marriage show and Adams Couple was one of the most loved couple. it was thru Adams Couple tat i got to know 2AM.
Their hit song then was "Even if I die I can't let you go" and there was one ep where it showed the boys filming the MV.

all the songs in this album showcased the boys' vocal perfectly. the 2 main tracks, Days and Over, are so well written and watching the MV just draws you into the emotions of the songs. as expected, 2AM live up to their name as a ballad group, belting out emotional love songs and drawing you in with their vocal harmony. the main vocal is ChangMin and Jo Kwon, and until this album do i truely acknowledged ChangMin's powerful vocal.

Jo Kwon is well known for his powerful vocal too. just listen to his duet with GaIn (BEG)"We Fell In Love" and his "The Day of Confession". after toiling for years as a trainee, he is finally seeing the fruits of his labour.
what i really admire about 2AM is the struggles they went thru to get to where they are today. being a brother group to a more successful 2PM, i sometimes feel that 2AM is being ignored and not invested as much as 2PM by JYP. there was a programme where by 2AM talked about their struggles and it really brings tears to my eye. i am sure that there are many in the kpop industry who are struggling too and it just goes to show how competitive and unforgiving the industry is.
still, i do how that more ppl will get to know 2AM and most important of all, enjoy their songs. i relied heavily on Soompi and youtube to get informations and really must thank the hardworking contributors for all their hard work.

the science centre has a new exhibit, the human body. we went there today. it is S$15 for kid, human body + science centre, and S$20 for adult. personally you are basically paying for the human body if you have been to the science centre before. still i think it is quite worth the experience as you get 2 run through the body. totally recommended!

tis is wat bry wrote after brush teeth. the most amazing thing is that he did it all on his own. i was busied with housework and he sat down with his writing pad and pen and started writing. at first i tot he was copying words from his assessment book but was surprised when i saw wat he wrote.
there are lots of mistakes but i must give him an A for effort. well done!!!
btw, Lenny is his "woman" (favourite pillow from young).
the smaller pupa turned into a butterfly last nite, Glass Yellow Butterfly.
dom and i brought it to the common garden (downstairs) to let it go. as we were opening the cover, it probably sensed that freedom was near and it started fluttering it's wings. it flew and landed on a leaf shortly before taking flight again.
it is indeed at worthwhile experience to see the pupa becoming a butterfly and releasing it. we had this pupa for nearly a week now.
hopefully it will be the big pupa's turn soon. what sort of butterfly will it be?
joo won is a up and coming actor. i got to know him from the kdrama "Good Doctor", which is currently being consider to be remake in USA. you guys can google about the news.
i love medical dramas, maybe due to the nature of my job. Good doctor is a really well made drama and touches you in so many different levels. main character is a savant and had a terrible childhood, losing his protective brother and being abandoned. the story begins with him starting internship at his mentor's hospital and the struggles that he goes thru to be finally accepted by the paediatric team.
i seldom will brag about dramas but this, along with 49 days, made a big impression on me.
enough said, joo won played the lead in Good Doctor and he is a talented actor. off camera, he is as cute as a puppy. on screen, he is able to portray his character well. kinda of hard to reconcile that cute goofy guy with the character he plays.
other notable works, Bridal Mask which takes place during the 2nd world war. shall not say much as i have yet to watch it, but this drama shot him into stardom. he had 2 previous dramas which had very high ratings but he was the lead in Bridal Mask. it was said that Good Doctor was his most challenging work as he had to act as a savant. it is already challenging to act a character of normal IQ, how much more if the character is savant etc.

i am watching the old eps of 2Days 1Nite Season 2, in which he was a member. it was painfully clear how much he was loved by the older members, more importantly how much he loved them. it was also during that time joo won was busied filming Bridal and Good, one can clearly see how exhausted he was.
he is currently in a musical Ghost, probably ending soon. he started in musicals in his college days and stated in interviews how he enjoys doing musicals. the reviews from fans who attended Ghost (may be a bit biased) were raving good.
hope to see him back on small and big screens soon. a truely cutie!
recently a parent from bry class came up with a contact to purchase caterpillar or pupa for the kids to learn about the lifecycle of butterfly.
you may or may not know, i am terrified of caterpillar and the likes of it. the tot of having one crawling about in a plastic container is enough to send me running far far far away. anyway, i spoke to the seller to find out more about the care of it and also to express my fear. seller inform me that i would have to change the leaves daily until it enters into the pupa stage and given my fear, it would be better for me to purchase the pupa stage. also extreme care must be taken not to shake the container unnecessary or else the caterpillar or pupa will die.
armed with these information, i decided to order 2 pupas for the boys and to self collect from seller. as there was a mass order from bry class, the seller will be sending them to school for the kids to bring home. as bry is rather rough and goes to after school care, i tot it will be best that i collect them.
anyway, i brought the boys along to collect the pupas and one of them is rather big while the other is tiny (see second pic). there will be no cleaning involved in pupa stage and hopefully we will see them change into butterflies this weekend.
